Tampa Bay area?
I know, it seems the only time I post on GC is for area information :P
Anyhoo, my fiance and I will be relocating to Pinellas County Florida here at the end of July for my teaching job in Clearwater. We went down at the end of May for a school thing yet we weren't able to really spend any time looking at apartments and all. Any suggestions or tips? We looked at a place in St.Pete that was in our price range but I'm not really thrilled because of the distance for me to drive to my school. Anything you would like to tell me? Like? Dislike? It's a done deal for at least a year but we just need some help :) Thanks! |
My grandmother lives in Pinellas County area, Seminole to be exact, which is right in the middle between Clearwater and St. Petes. It's very quiet down there and it's really not that bad of an area, because it's mostly retirees that live in there.

I went to school in Tampa, so I'm pretty familiar with the area. The cool part about working in Clearwater is that most people commute from there INTO Tampa, so if you lived in Tampa (more affordable), you would be able to commute to Clearwater no problem. Or, you could check out areas like Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, all which are north of Clearwater. You might also find affordable places in St. Pete/Seminole. The beaches are awesome, the water in the gulf is kind of like a warm bathtub, but there is little to no erosion and the white sand is like sugar.
There are a lot of fun things to do in Tampa, there's Busch Gardens, the sports teams, Gasparilla. St. Pete has a lot of museums, and nice beaches. Clearwater is pretty much a beach town. Not so fun: HURRICANES! PM me if you have any questions! |
