Kappa food ideas

I've seen cakes and cookies in the shape of keys or fleur-de-lys, but seeing these were the catalyst for starting this thread:

I would just use gray-blue food coloring instead of pink!

Any other food ideas for get togethers?

Those are cute. I never heard of brown Skittles though!

Maybe they meant M&Ms?

If you're going the simple route, M&ms has their Colorworks line. You can get light blue and dark blue M&Ms.

That would make more sense. The purple Skittles are kind of dark though. If you used a different color scheme like kappa2 was thinking about, maybe a different color Skittles (or M&Ms) would be better anyway.

I checked out the custom M&Ms a couple of days ago because I was thinking of getting some for the EKs (I've got an M&Ms dispenser that I am going to fill for a recruitment treat for them). They were about $12 for a 7-oz. bag with a minimum of 4 bags. With S/H, it would have been about $60! They were really, really cute though. You can play around with the message and color combos on the screen, which was fun. :D I'm not sure if I could have put "KKG" on them. They asked if I used an abbreviation and what it meant--they also said something about not being able to use trademarks, etc. They do have a business section though, so I guess registered things may be used there.

They had custom M&Ms at my bridal shower. They were cute, but didn't go very far! That was a lot of money for not very much. Although I guess you could get blue and blue custom M&Ms, and then mix them with the plain blue and blue M&Ms to make them stretch further.

So did they e-mail you, or did the site just guess that KKG was an abbreviation?

MSKKG 06-26-2007 04:38 PM

I never completed the transaction--I was just kind of fooling around the site. I think there were 3 steps before checking out: 1) pick the 2 colors you wanted, 2) type your message, and 3) select packaging. The question about the abbreviation was at the 2nd step.

The alumnae association who was in charge of the banquet at our Province Meeting put small, clear plastic boxes with dk and lt blue and white M&Ms at each place setting. The M&Ms were also stamped KKG in gold.

The cupcakes are cute, BTW!

I've also seen candy wrappers where people printed up kappa designs or titles and put them over regular candies, but I love things you can make yourself. Did anyone do anything interesting for rush/recruitment?

One of our sisters had a mother who made white and blue chocolate owl-shaped lollipops for pref night. I can't believe she had the moldsfor this....
