Cute Bid Day Gifts?
Hello Wonderful GCers!
My chapter and I are making plans for bid day and we've decided that it would be more meaningful if we made our bid day gifts. We are buying some things, but we would like to make a majority of the items that we give the new members on bid day. Does anyone have any cute ideas, or things in the past that they have done that has gone over well? I have used the search function, and found some great ideas, but we would like to have a few more options. Thanks! Karissa University of Louisville Assistant Recruitment Chair |
How about a wreath made out of wheat? You could decorate it with roses and panda stuff.
Something like this: http://www.lavendervalleyfarm.com/sh...4_wheat_lg.jpg You could put it on the new member's doors. |
New members really, really want letters. Even if they are homemade. Some ideas of items you can decorate with wood letters, paint pens, etc.:
Totebags t-shirts picture frames corkboards stuffed animal (mascot) signs for their doors buttons containers for food, pencil boxes, misc. stuff pin boxes vases I would buy a few store-bought things. It is important to try and find out what the other sororities are doing, too, to "keep up" with what everyone else is doing so your new members don't feel "left out." |
Do you assign Panda Pals on bid day? Maybe make matching gifts for the Panda Pal to give to the new member- such as a matching set of letters. Or buy stuffed panda bears and dress them in tee-shirts that are painted with letters.
My chapter made pillowcases that said "An AOII Loves Me" with two stick figure girls on it. I think it was puffy paint- so you could make the pillow cases in advance and then add the new member's name on it as soon as you get the bidlist- it should dry by the time they arrive. |
