Top Chef 3
Just wondering if anyone was watching? They have already shown 2 episodes and of course it takes on the drama of the past Top Chef's.
My early favorites are Tre, Hung (that might change since he is like the Marcel of season 3, plus Marcel and him are friends), CJ, and Brian. It's kind of funny that they are showing more of the gentlemen on the show then the ladies. In fact, they showed one girl on the last episode, Camille, and I was like, "Who is that? I have never seen her before" |
I don't really know many of the chefs names, but so far I like the black guy who won the first challenge, the indian lady, and the bald guy who has been in the bottom twice (he seems to know his stuff, he just hasn't shown his potential yet; I like the fact that he owns up to his mistakes).
|
I giggle every time the camera has to pan up to get CJ in the shot.

I like Tre and Hung, and I like the Asian girl (don't recall a name) I really don't like cocky guy but it's early, he'll get his.
|
Sara N is the Asian girl.
I'm loving the show so much better than last year. More food, less drama. Hung is my fav. He's as cocky as Marcel, but doesn't seem as socially inept. |
I'm putting my money on Tre or Hung. At this point, I think I like Tre's food a little better. Guy can cook.
|
I like Tre so far, but I can't decide if I like Hung. He's getting on my nerves. But I also don't like it when the same chefs always come out on top. I know it's early, though, so I won't let that get to me for now.
The two guys that argued with each other on the last episode both bug me. They can go. I haven't really taken notice of the other contestants yet, but that will change, i'm sure. |
Yeah, Hung is a little cocky....but not asshole cocky like Marcel was.
........and he also doesn't put foam on everything. |
At least for the moment, the cockiness seems deserved (although I'm behind, why does it seem like Bravo is always rerunning these shows until you want them to?) That said, I liked Marcel even with his foams and just didn't like how Season 2 went down at all. I'm not even sure there should have been a winner of that season.

Yeah, I don't think they did a very good job with season 2. I thought Sam was the most talented of them all. I thought both Marcel and Elian (sp?) were practically one dimensional (Spanish influences vs. Foam/New Age). Elia was very talented as well. Season one had a clear cut winner. Harold was by far above everyone else.
|
Ilan I think.
Yeah, Ilan was *saffron EVERYWHERE* and Marcel took the risks with the modern stuff but overall didn't cook that well. I liked Sam, but Elia turned me off after her weird Marcel betrayal. (Went from defending him to joining the 'bullies' and not helping him when he asked for it) Her cooking was ok, but her emotional stability in the kitchen, not so much. |
Stephen from season 1 still cracks me up. That season 1 vs season 2 special made me realize how much fun his pretentious a** was.
|
I'd still take Stephen over Marcel any day. :)
