Alli
Alli Homepage
Alli is the first weight-loss drug approved by the FDA... What do you think about it? Will you try it? ETA: I think personally, I will wait a little while, until the general population tries it. There are some major concerns for me, even though it was approved by the FDA. Also, it requires you to completely change your meal-planning, and suggests that you start on your new meal plan before you even start taking it. |
I have this feeling that like so many great-sounding drugs, it'll have some terrible side effects that'll take it off the market in a few months. If it's not something that kills someone, it'll at least be embarrassing (frequent and loud gas, etc.) You're wise to wait.

I'm not sold on it. It basically says it HELPS you lose 50% more weight than you would without it. So you need to be making that commitment anyway. Perhaps the pills would be a motivation to do so, I don't know.

I have a friend on it now. If you eat too much fat, it gives you the shits. I think that's motivation enough! |

I heard on the Today show that the makers even suggest taking an extra pair of pants with you during the day in case you have an accident!
Hell no I'd never take it! |

Haha.....isn't this true though without the drugs? I mean.......you go eat a 1lb chili cheese burrito and a fat steak..........you and the porcelain gods are going to have a little come to Jesus meeting. |

This is my favorite:
"You may not usually get gassy, but it's a possibility when you take alli. The bathroom is really the best place to go when that happens." In other words, don't try to do one of the silent kinds when you're in public. You may end up making a mess of your pants. |
