Auburn Recruitment Schedule
Here's the link to the Auburn recruitment schedule ...
https://fp.auburn.edu/greek/pnmschedule.htm what I find interesting is that every round has more party times then a PNM can accept, so that every PNM will have at least one open party ... there are even 4 preference parties ... and a PNM can attend up to 3. I guess there are so many PNMs going thru that the chapters and the chapter rooms would be overwhelmed without the extra party in the schedule. I also think its nice that women who don't have full schedules won't be the only PNMs with open parties. |
they do that at uf. everyone at one time or another has a free period.
they also do that at my daughters school, samford. |
That's new. When I was a collegian, there were no free periods like that. I wonder when it changed?
|
I believe this is the first year with the breaks. I was in Auburn last year helping my chapter with recruitment and there were only as many parties as the PNMs could attend each round. I think this is mostly a good idea. The only thing I worry about is that the chapter members will be even more exhausted because they will have 6 additional parties to host.

Shouldn't more parties ideally mean more one on one time with the PNMs?

I'm a little confused at how it equals six extra parties. Does Auburn have six rounds? It's going to be exhausting, no doubt. Think about first round conversations repeating another time. (ETA: dur, I looked at the schedule and in some rounds it's two extra parties a round. I see the six now.) I think this may have come up in a different recruitment thread when we talked about how having a extra party per round could help smaller chapters because it would allow smaller rush groups? Does it increase the number of girls that chapters can invite back to each round too? If everyone gets a break but they are at different times, the girls without full party schedules won't stand out as much. Just out of curiosity, how big were the first round parties last year? |

not sure about auburn, but the way i understand it is that the pnms are the only ones getting the break, and not everyone has a break at the same time, except the first round when they are going around in rush groups together.

I have nothing to add, except that my intern is a Alpha Gamma Delta at Auburn. This will be her first recruitment as a member and she's very excited.
|
They did that at my daughter's school last year, too. They just added one party to the first day because there were so many girls going through recruitment. They didn't know about it until a day or two before rush started, though.
|
I am pretty sure the reason that auburn has added parties is because they are expecting over 1200 girls (which is usualy in the last 4 years) to go through recruitment. Adding parties just means that chapter rooms won't be even more over crowded. Also, if you end up not having a full party schedule other girls will just think it is your party off. I believe that each sorority gets a party off as well, but I am not positive.

That's new to me! But I will say thank God - or at least about 16 air conditioning units will. I'm very interesting to see how this effects the flow of recruitment and all that jazz.
Kelly - are you going to be helping this year? |
I'm thinking I will be going. I have the time and probably a place to stay. I had a great time last year and I am glad to help out.
|
I'd be down there for sure but we start the fall term before Auburn does. Can y'all believe rush starts there in about 5 weeks?
|
I am looking forward to helping with rush at Auburn! Lots of girls from our Peachtree City area are headed to War Eagle country this year!:)
