Windows XP Question

I set up a password on my computer and now, for the life of me, cannot remember it, or I misspelled it when I set it up. Is there a way to get around it, or am I pretty much screwed?

if you have access to the registry...u have a slim chance of getting to it....

I'd call up Windows Tech Support, there should be a backdoor somewhere for situations like these.

I set it through the Users function. How do I access the registry?

Try logging in with the user name Administrator and no password. If this wasn't set up the first time the PC started up or during the Windows XP installation, then there is no administrator password.

Did you install the Windows XP yourself or did the computer come with it on there?
What brand is the PC?
Sometimes, when they do the original install, the company who did the install has a username and password that they used on it and some of them are able to give that to you (Dell has been able to do that for me in the past when we got a laptop with a preset administrator password but didn't know what it was).

Can the password be changed to a new one?
