work fines?
I'm re-vising our chapter standing rules for the summer, and I wanted to incorporate the use of work fines to go along with monetary fines.
Has your chapter tried doing this, and was it successful? I just need a little help because I'm not sure how to run with this. side note: Our chapter is rather small, 15 actives;5 carry-over new members and total is 40. in IIKE, Tamara |
This is just me, but it seems that work fines might not be such a good idea. I don't see it as a good way to motivate sisters to do the things that they should be doing? What infractions would result in these fines? Miss a meeting and you get a "work fine"? If they are already not showing up to events why would they show up or be motivated to work??
I would think social fines would be a better tool. If you miss too many meetings or whatever, then you won't be allowed to attend this or that social. But more important than fines, is figuring out WHY people aren't doing what they are supposed to do and correcting that issue instead. Good luck! |
we use a points system for standards, and if you fall below the points for that month, you get fined 5.00 per point. but, there are opportunities to make up points.
I took over standards in march, and we haven't gotten too many fines; but our RC suggested that we try to incorporate work fines, like setting up/cleaning up for initiation, polishing the silver, etc. we don't really have enough socials so that i could take them away as 'punishment' for not going to events. |
