Scooter gets a Dozen and a 1/2

WASHINGTON - Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison Tuesday for lying and obstructing the CIA leak investigation.

Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, stood calmly before a packed courtroom as a federal judge said the evidence overwhelmingly proved his guilt and left the courthouse without commenting.

BAA, Scape Goat!

Well, of course he screwed up, but under whose orders?

He will come out a little richer but a little bigger in the shorts!;)

Not a Libby fan at all, but it is interesting (ironic?) that his sentence is longer than several of the Watergate conspirators.

Is the judge making a point? As I understand it, he is a Bush appointee.

I'll be damned... u were right...but

-he is still considered a felon

- he still has to pay 250,000

- he will more than likely lose his law licence...

He received a presidential commutation; there is a diffrence. However a pardon is still a possibility in the near future.

Relax, chief - every president does this, it's basically standard.

I'll bet Animate was equally pissed after the Clinton pardons.

If you're going to jump on a bandwagon, why not at least look into the subject more? Libby is loved by a lot of Dems. He's not exactly the most polarizing figure out there. It's not like Rove was the one on trial. So he's not only a bad candidate to attack, his sentence was ridiculous, and Bush hasn't gone on a pardon spree like Clinton and Ford.
