Fake group on Facebook
I thought I'd cross-post this thread to here in hopes of getting more input. Apparently this group is still active and still an issue.
http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=83146 How do you get something like this removed? I don't have facebook so I don't know what they'll do in situations like this. |
I reported it as "attacking a group or individual." I guess it's also technically "an inappropriate picture," using the crest like that.
 That makes me angry. |
Also, if you were starting your own fraternity or sorority as a joke, wouldn't you make up your own letters to spell something funny that no GLO would have, like Kappa Epsilon Gamma, or Alpha Sigma Sigma, or Gamma Delta Iota? How dumb do you have to be to take someone else's letters?
|
I'm pretty sure the creator of the group and the members aren't aware that Alpha Sigma Alpha is an actual sorority. Not everyone has the same exposure.
I reported it as well. |
I reported it as well. What I don't get is why they chose ASA when there are gazillions of other Greek letter combinations out there they could have used for their fake GLO.

I reported it as well. Hopefully the Facebook admins will receive enough complaints and take action.
|
I reported it as well and pointed out that ASA's name and crest are trademarked. figured if I mentioned that maybe the idea of a potential lawsuit would get into facebook's head.

Facebook doesn't seem to react very quickly to reports. I reported a sleazy group attacking the women in one Gamma Phi chapter, and I think it's still there.
|
Hopefully, if enough people report it, they'll get tired of the complaints and remove it...
|
I reported it also! Maybe if they get a flood of requests they will do something!
