Simple pleasures
 

Okay, this thread is somewhat the opposite of the sorority girls' neccessities thread. Since some of us could never begin to afford Tiffany, Kate Spade, etc. on our part-time salary, what are some of the things that don't really cost anything that just make you feel good?

For example, it's raining outside and I'm inside relaxing for an hour or so with a big bowl of hot cereal. It doesn't cost a lot, but I'm just about as happy as can be right now.

So what are some of those little, simple pleasures that make you happy?

The smell of Springtime. I live in Southern California and the smell of the orange blossoms and jasmine and freesia all in bloom with a hint of ocean smell thrown in-- my favorite time of year and my favorite smell!

Mad props to you girl for posting this. No offense to anyone, but not all "sorority girls" can afford Kate Spade bags and Tiffany jewelry. I prefer... hmmmm... chillin' with my sisters, watching Sixteen Candles, and eating ice cream.

Or... OH!!!! Walking into a party late, and having everyone yell your name, and come up to hug you or say hello. That's the absolute best!

My simple pleasures are:
*laughing with my friends

*watching TV and laughing at my fave shows
*watching a rain storm from my balcony
*sleeping late on the weekends under snuggly covers
*eating great food and having great conversations with my friends
*working out and getting healthier
*talking and being with my mom
*traveling to new places
*learning something new
*making people laugh with my asinine sense of humor
*learning to love myself more every day

When the first strawberries or peaches arrive at the farmer's market and you're so excited to eat them, you find the nearest water fountain, wash off a berry and pop it into your mouth right then and there...or sink your teeth into a soft peach and feel the juice run down your chin. :-)

Bubblebaths, candles and soothing music!

Simple pleasures:

Seating on the couch all weekend in my sweats watching cheesy movies on Lifetime or Breakfast Club(my all-time favorite move)

cleaning my room(sounds silly,but I like looking at my room after I've cleaned it)

attending preseason basketball games and acting a fool

seeing Girl Scouts on the way to work last Saturday the day after I asked my friends if they knew anybody who was selling cookies.(I was a happy camper that day..I got my Thin Mints and Somoas(sp)

A good book,hot cocoa,a springtime thunderstorm,and listening to my daughter laugh.
