Hey everyone,
I have two questions for you. I'm curious to know how long all of you have been posting on Greekchat and how you all heard about the site in the first place. No, I'm not doing a survey for the website. I'm asking because my story is kinda weird.

I found this site again about 2 months ago when I was super super bored at work. I wanted to see if it was still around. About 4 years ago I put 'Greek' into a search engine and I found greeksource.com, or something to that effect. Greekchat was one of the links but it was different back then. It was more of a chat room. I believe there was one place for postings but it wasn't divided up as neatly as it is now, back then. I formed a great friendship with a fellow Gamma Phi from Texas Weslayan back then and we're still great friends now.

Four years later, I'm back http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif . And enjoying my newfound addiction :P .

Sometime after it went down I tried the URL again and this site came up. At that time almost no one usd it.

I didn't check back here for some months and when I did I discovered a lot of new use.

And viola, here we are today.

I came here first when it was greeksource or whatever as well. December '97 I think it was. I had gotten into a really heated argument with a girl about her boyfriend and some issues that were happening, and at the tiem it had that awful yellow background and the threads were really hard to read and follow. So I took off and didnt wonder back till may of 2000, when I was done with finals and REALLY board. I spent one whole weekend reading others posts and REALLY wanting that "Senior" in front of my name. almost a year later, I am still here. Its wierd, I feel like I know a lot of ya'll.

GC Rocks. Glad they dont charge for this. I'm bad enough as it is - like a crack whore or something.

i know this sounds bad, but i cant remember for the life of me how i found this board! i think it was a link on some sorority webpage i was looking at. I cant remember the sorority however! i love greekchat. I wish i had the time to read every post ever posted on here. I have tried to before actually, but when you find out there are like 10 pages full of topics you get frustrated and then just say forget it. Every now and then, i'll read some and if i like them then i'll comment on it and bring it back up.

I also feel like i know a lot of you guys!

Dito! I found Greek Chat I think in November and shortly after became a member! Things have quieted down (thank God) and now I enjoy meeting people and talking about a wide variety of topics...I certainly am addicted! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif

I did a search on Yahoo! for greek related sites and came across this one. I really enjoyed getting to see what everyone's opinions are and "meeting" people from other schools. I am now a Greek Chat junkie!

I remember Greek source - I think I came across this site looking for it one day. I think I signed on a couple of years back, but got really into this site last summer.

I can't remember how I found out about this. But like everyone has said, I immediately got hooked! So hooked that I've become one of the many esteemed moderaters on here http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif hehehe

Typed in Greek chat came up us the number 1 hit in the Altavista search engine. Seems pretty cool. It's the first time I have used this bulletin board..

Like Lifesaver, I was a Greeksource surfer when it was in the old format, in late '97 also. They had an African American forum which was pure Jerry Springer mayhem, which they shut down about 3 months later. The main forum wasn't much better, with long, heated threads such as "Gamma Sigma What...?" and "A-Phi-Q Till the Day I Die"
A lot of Alpha Phi Omegas used to "run" the site. The site shut down in mid to late '98, and I got back on the site in December '99. And loving it.

Greeksource refugee too. I remmeber the A-Phi-O vs the world episode. It was funny. What ever happen to him anyway?
