Man faked being a veteran to get rich off of gullible antiwar movement.

This is classic -- a con artist sees a group of extremely gullible people and he takes advantage. He phonied up some military papers and awarded himself the purple heart. By doing so, he was able to appear in several propaganda films making false claims about atrocities he and his fellow soldiers committed in Iraq.

I swear he's the kid in Farenheit 9/11. Not positive though.

They said he has been featured in some anti-war campaigns, so it wouldn't surprise me. Plus, I'm not sure how much hard-core research Moore did into the subjects of the documentary; if someone came forward as a veteran criticizing the war, he probably had the camera ready, no questions asked.

I may be feeling kind of crazy right now when I say this, but I almost feel bad for the guy for being such a complete loser.

He has absolutely nothing going for him in life, and it looks like he never had and never will.

I wish that the military could disclose his discharge details so I could know if they kicked him out for being crazy or for being physically injured in basic training. I'm just curious exact what happened there.

I am not defending his actions by any stretch, and he's not really making himself more sympathetic by getting jailed for what looks like domestic assault, I guess. But could he be any more of a zero on any measure of being a worthwhile human being? And for that, I may feel some pity. I wish I could muster up some feelings of Christian charity.
