Guys who do that are douchebags. the only thing that maybe we did the same thing with is intiation, that's it. every pledging is different, regardless if they are balanced man or not. my chapter is traditional and i couldnt care less if other sig ep chapters were balanced man or traditional, in fact i couldn't care less about getting to know other sig ep's at all. I love all the guys in our chapter, but greek life would be 10x better if every single fraternity or sorority had their own individual names, unique ones. I shouldn't get a job over a guy who's just as qualified just because im a sig ep and the guy who's hiring was one 35 years ago, thats the stupidest thing in the world...we have NOTHING in common except for a few letters...woopty fuckin' doo.

Sig Ep made a mistake on you.

AlphaFrog 05-18-2007 12:01 PM

Obviously, you're an undergrad.

That too.

LaneSig 05-18-2007 12:04 PM

What's the purpose of this? Why, in your first ever post, you come on, run down your initiated brothers and tell us that they aren't truly brothers with you?

I don't recall anyone asking you how you felt. Thanks for sharing.

At a college with very low standards.

That is, if this guy is for real. I have my doubts.

AlphaFrog 05-18-2007 12:15 PM

I think the thing that makes me laugh the most is that the ASAs that I'm friends with now are not so much my chapter sisters. I have a few chapter sisters that I'm still in contact with, but I'm closer with many non-chapter sisters.

In other words: He just wanted to wear a shirt with Greek letters.

Then why didn't you join a local fraternity? Why bother to join a national organization if you don't wish to be associated with brothers from other chapters?

(Anyhow, I strongly suspect that this guy is a troll. He's probably not even a Sig Ep.)

macallan25 05-18-2007 12:48 PM

Well, he is a Sep.

jennie3576 05-18-2007 03:08 PM

this is what i have to say.

i pledged 12 years ago and think it's the best decision i ever made.
i am friends with sisters from my chapter.
i am friends with sisters from other chapters.
i am friends with sisters from varied chapters of other sororities.
i am friends with brothers from varied chapters of fraternities.
i am friends with sisters and brothers from local sororities and fraternities.

sisterhood and brotherhood extends beyond our own chapters, and even our own letters. sisterhood and brotherhood are helping to illustrate diveristy and equality between everyone.

if you hate it so much, depin.

thanks...getting off of my soapbox now.....

Hooray for the quote function. The best posts on GC are preserved that way. :)
