UFOs and other life. What do you think?

I was watching the discovery channel again. I know, between that and Animal Planet, I'm glued.:p

But anyway they were just talking about UFOs and other life in the universe. It's really hard for me to tell. If UFOs are coming to earth like people say, why haven't I had any encounters with them? I saw the movie Fire in the sky and I wondered if that was a hoax. There are billions of galaxies in outer space, and I also find it hard to believe that we would be the only life out there. I sometimes wonder what's on the other side of a black hole too. Kind of scary.

Who knows? If we are the only life forms out there, then I wonder what everything else is there for.

Fire in the sky was a great movie. I doubt it was a hoax, but then again I wouldn't put anything past anybody.

Despite the quality of people posting here (except my sister, hey girl) I'll answer anyway.

I seriously doubt there are aliens "among us" or whatever. They travel billions of light years and abduct the most white trash people to anally probe, go tear up a few cows and call it a night? Nah. I believe there's other life out there, the universe is too big for there not to be. However, unless there's a LOT of life out there, we may never come across it.

Finally, as some science fiction author once pointed out (or wait, was it Stephen Hawking?), the most intelligent animals tend to be predators. Apes are, in a way, an aberration to that. If we meet an alien race, odds are they'll be predators and that would not bode well for us. Why do they always come in peace? Because if they come in war we wouldn't have a chance.

Unless of course a cable repair guy can upload a virus into their mothership from his laptop.

I am open to the possibility of life, even intelligent life, existing in other parts of the universe.

But given the distance and technology and time barrier, I seriously doubt they have made successful contact with humans on earth.

You mean, Elvis REALLY IS dead, and he didn't just go home? Tommy Lee Jones is a liar.

Hey, I'll make an exception for Elvis.

Someone who I know very well and would never lie to me told me once when he was drunk that he saw a piece of debris from a crashed UFO while he was working a security detail. He worked as a SF officer at Wright-Patterson AFB, and supposedly when a UFO crashes in the states, thats where it goes. Theres a doc out called the UFO disclosure project(?) that features statements mostly from retired military and police officers that highlights UFO encounters that they had on duty and how they were subsequently silenced by their employers. It's on youtube if anybody wants to look it up. It's pretty interesting not to mention groundbreaking if their accounts really are true.

Yeah or some guys told him one hell of a story ;)

I heard about Wright Patterson AFB. I've always wanted to visit the museum there. Sometimes I wonder if we're getting most, if not all of our technology from captured aliens that have crashed in UFOs. I know that sounds crazy but look at the times, and how fast technology changes. Let's go back to the 1700s. From 1700AD-1800AD there really wasn't much of a change in the technology, but if you look at 1967-2007 there has been a significant change in technology. Actaully even from 1997-2007 seems like two totally different time periods based on technology. Why is it getting better and better in such short periods of time?

What about area 51? Supposedly is doesn't exist on the map. Some of the sightings that people think may be UFOs could also be the U.S. government testing new military equipment too. I saw an airshow last year and I watched the F117 stealth fighter fly by, and if that would have flown by 40 years ago, people would have thought it was a UFO. I'm sure.

My mom told me that a while ago, when my brother was little (we're 10 years apart) they were in Wyandotte (a little suburb of Detroit) and they saw something strange in the sky. They swore it was a UFO, and so did everyone else around. They called the cops and the they said they had gotten tons of calls about the same object.
