Nash For MVP

Okay Guys, here's a sports question that we can all relate to:)

Please don't get me wrong. I love Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns just like I loved John Stockton of the Jazz during his heyday...but three MVP's in a row??? Is this logical?

Jordan and Magic were 10 times more valuable to their respective teams than Nash. If you took Shaq away from Miami or the Lakers, they never would have won the championships. If you take Kobe away from the Lakers, they could drop down to among the bottom 3-5 NBA teams.

Do you think Steve deserves it three years in a row which raises him among the pantheon of the greatest players of all time?

Steve Nash is a great player who probably deserves it this year but won't win it (Dirk Novitiski will). I didn't think of Nash as a 3-time winner anyway because his first MVP year, the award should have gone to Shaquille O'Neal who was more dominant for his team, IMO.

Nash is very good, but longevity (or a consistent window of high level play) points toward greatness, so if Nash keeps at his current level -- and can get his team to a championship level (he has tremendous talent around him in Marion and Stoudemire, Bell, Barbosa, et. al.) then a "greatness" debate will have some merit. But I love dude's game.

Didn't Larry Bird win it three years in a row as well?

Yeah, Bird Sure Did

TonyB06,

Bird sure did. I was playing with G.I. Joe's and Transformers back then...lol...so I wasn't even aware of it. I only saw him like in 1992 when he was suffering from all of that back stuff.

I've seen highlights and my Dad told me how he would like hit three-pointers like...almost everytime (?)...:)

Dirk and Nash...wow...

...weren't they on the same team at some point because Nash played for Dallas before coming to Phoenix, right?
