Washington DC nightlife???

i'm interning in Washington, DC this spring and i'm wondering if anybody can recommend some fun & classy clubs or bars that college-aged people frequent. can you recommend some cool places?

Hey twinstars, congrats on your internship-where exactly are you interning? Hmmmm, Washington DC nightlife it is a very eclectic mix. What are you into, because its there. Live music is always really good at small clubs, if you are into emerging bands, or big name bands there is the 9:30 club. Georgetown is ALWAYS popular with the college crowd. My friends from home tell me that they love Platinum. Don't forget Baltimore either while you are there, it is on;y 30-45 mintues away, you have SO many clubs in Fells Point, and they just opened Bar Baltimore, and the China Room is so good. What else Bohagers, I could go on forever. If you want you can email me with your specific musical tastes and I can tell you alot more.

Twinstars,

USFStudent is correct. Theres quite a mix of things you can do in D.C. I graduated from George Mason which is very close to D.C. and I used to frequent D.C. as an active quite a bit. I havent partied there in ages though. I guess it all depends on your taste and what your group is in to. From my experience Georgetown was pretty fun. I remember Mr. Days, Champions, Roadhouse, and Winstons but I think that placed closed. LuLus is a pretty good place. Its got a little dance area, a couple bars, and pool tables. Definitely a classy place I think. Rumors is fun too. Kind of a sports bar with a dance floor and two bars inside. Names often change but when I used to go to clubs there was 3rd Edition, Spy Club(think that closed), Z CLUB (loads of fun and I used to go with my boys there often), and Spot club that had 5 floors of different stuff. But that place has changed names I think or closed. My school use to frequent the Celler but I dont think that place is that great anymore. Adams Morgan is another area in D.C. thats a fun place. Theres Cities and on the opposite side of the street theres Heaven and Hell(2 Floors) if I remember correctly. I think Polyester or Platinum are clubs I've heard on the radio often about lately. Anyway, hope this helps.

Kevin

Does anybody remember when Tracks was open?

aabby757 12-03-2003 10:35 AM

I do. Tracks was amazing. Even for a straight girl like me.

It was so beyond violent and they had many shootings so it was simply too unsafe to go there.

Too bad. Those gay guys in chaps were hot!

You know, i NEVER got to go. Kids in high school were going to tracks when I was a senior, but I think they closed it by the time I got to college.

The Ibex was this go-go club in Northwest that got turned into a furniture store! Another club i never got to go to when i became of age, lol.

hit up Adams Morgan and Georgetown if you want to go bar hopping.

IMHO, Ozio's has the best happy hour around. You can get cocktails and martini's for half price from 4-7.

There's a new place on the Hill that is supposed to be pretty classy. Lounge 201, I think. Haven't checked it out.

And I would not recommend LuLu's if you're looking for a classy night out. That place is all about body shots and cheesy hook ups.
