Valdosta State Expansion

Any news from Valdosta State?

Didn't realize that VSU was open.

The AGD chapter has been closed, but I don't think the current recruitment numbers would support adding another chapter at this time. I could be wrong, however.

There's a link on the front page of the AGD National site: http://www.alphagammadelta.org/

Thanks for posting that, PT. I wanted to when it was posted last week, but it's always hard to report the closing of a chapter, especially one that belonged to several AGD GCers.

If I'm not mistaken, today marks the official closing of the chapter as it's the last day of the semester. Hugs to Theta Sigma. :(

This reminds me of Arizona State a few years ago. AGD closed there and then almost overnight they were open for expansion again? I'll be very surprised and disappointed if Valdosta State is open so soon.

I'd be surprised, too. When ZTA left U of AZ (after only being on campus a couple of years) there was talk of immediate expansion, but it didn't happen.
My thoughts are with your VSU chapter as well - I know this is a difficult time for them.

It is always sad to hear of any Chapter closing!:(

Remember, it could have been a problem with the chapter but also the school!

Quota has been in the low to mid twenties in the last several years. That works well for that campus...I can't see another group coming in unless numbers increase.

VSU Expansion

Greek Life at VSU is looking to expand ASAP.

I'm sure I'm oversensitive because I'm an Alpha Gam, and I do understand that sometimes a particular group has trouble that a new group wouldn't, BUT if one group just went under for low membership and the present new member classes are just in the 20s, what would make it seem that the campus needed to expand ASAP?

Wouldn't a few years of everyone doing well just be lovely without bringing on a new group just yet? The chapters all could build up in size slightly, and if the numbers of PNM merited it, then expand?

I am sorry to hear about Theta Sigma. It was a great group of girls. I had a good time hanging out with some of the girls in college.

ZTA at Arizana

ZTA was victim to the brainiac that I mentioned in my posting on the Expansions 2007 thread.

They were the last to colonize and without a house. Of the five who colonized, three had houses waiting for them: Sigma Kappa, Tri Delt and AOII. ZTA and SDT did not have houses. SDT got an apartment complex and tried to do some kind of building. ZTA took over the TKE house that had only been lived in for a year and was brand new. AOII moved into their old house after their first year on campus. Tri Delt had a house. Not sure when they moved in, probably second year too.

I heard some things that had happened with the ZTA colony. Not sure of all of the details. More rumor than anything, so I won't detail. I know that a lot of women quite. One from my highschool who did some less than sisterly things.

I have a lot of friends that went to Arizona.
