Sports Writer: "I'm Transgender"
Saw this article on the front page of MSNBC today and thought it took a lot of guts on behalf of the writer AND the L.A. Times. I was pleasantly surprised by many of the kind comments in the feedback section, which frankly I expected to be filled with hate speak.

I almost said, "It takes to some real balls to write this article." I guess it's really the other way around in this case. |
it's true, i admire hir's courage in announcing this publicly (going with the gender neutral pronoun since he's not a she yet, but will be!)

There's already a prominent baseball writer (Christina Kahrl, formerly Chris Kahrl) who has been working as a transgender writer the past few years.
It doesn't matter to me, if they can write, I'll read their stuff. |
