Accommodations for hearing impaired members?
I'm curious to hear what chapters who have hearing impaired members do to ensure that the member is getting everything out of the Greek experience?
I realize, of course, that some of these things would have to be decided on a case-by-case basis (depending upon the level of impairment for the member involved, etc.). I would just like to see what other chapters are doing in general - perhaps there's something that we've overlooked and that it hasn't occurred to our member to suggest/request. Thanks for your input! |
Actually my big is deaf. She could lip read and also had some hearing with an aid so she did not need much in the way of accommadations. I do remember that at recruitment events she made a point of telling the PNM's that she was hearing impared so they did not think she was rude if she had to ask them to repeat themselves.
