WE'RE NUMBER ONE!!!!!

The OU Sooners (That's University of Oklahoma) remains on top after the win in the big twelve championship game against Kansas State. And that sends us to the Orange Bowl!!!

I may not have been Sooner born or breed - i grew up in Arkansas calling the hogs - but when I die I'll be sooner dead!

When I went to this post, I thought is was all about "oranges" (i.e. the fruit), since Christmas is coming, and that's when mandarin oranges from Japan and China are in the grocery stores (YUM!). Or clementine oranges are in the store too, depending on which coast you live on! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

Another thing to look forward to at Christmas time!!

Artimis--I thought you meant the same as Cutie Pie 2000 did!

Many moons ago I was a cheerleader at the University of Arkansas (Woooo pigs!) and the fans were all sure that we were going to get an Orange Bowl bid after the game. The whole time, people were heaving oranges and tangerines down on the field--it was dangerous! Commented Lou Holtz after the game: "I'm glad we weren't getting a Gator Bowl bid."

Hate to burst your bubble, but FSU is going to be the national champ again when the beat the Sooners on January 3. The chop is gonna get Heupel (sp?). Weinke may be an old man, but 33 touchdowns ain't too shabby...

That's all fine and good for now, but let me tell you after the UT vs. AM game two weeks ago with our second string QB and three freshman wide recievers slamming our rivals 43-17, we'll be the ones in the BCS.(Back me up on this UTAlum) http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif But wait, how did Fox Sports Net put it, "The Texas Longhorns (9-2, 7-1) salvaged this season by taking a good, strong early look at the next one. Or two. Or three." Thats right. We'll have the title for the next 3 or 4 years. (This years humilliating loss to OU, notwithstanding.) Step off, yankees.

For those that don't follow Sooner Football..
The number one rank team and National Champions for the 2000 Season of College Football is still the undefeated, undesputed University of Oklahoma ~ Sooners!!!

It was a hard faught game by both teams but in end, only one team could walk away with the prize. And I'm prOUd that was the Sooners!

Sooner Football is back!
