Kansas City
 

The wonderful army has decided to move me to Fort Leavenworth Kansas. And I am trying to decide where to live. I am thinking about living in downtown Kansas City, MO. The place is at 909 Walnut. Is this a good part of town. Any advice would be great!

What unit will you be assigned to? Very few people make that commute b/c of the blizzards etc. and the fact that often your boss/commander will want you at work "immediately" and not the hour it will take you to get there from KC. Talk to your sponsor before committing; you may be considered essential personell and required to live within 10 min of post. Lansing is popular b/c it's halfway between Fort and KC but I know several who lived around Platte City (airport area) or Parkville and Weston. We always lived on the Fort due to the convenience factor (DH walked a block to work etc.) Been there twice and loved it both times.
