Theme Ideas for Formal

Hey all,
I am the internal social chair for my chapter, and we have formal coming up in May. I am all out of ideas for themes. Any help? I want it to be super classy! Thanks:)

when i was social last year, our theme was a Moonlit Masquerade.
sounds kinda prom-y (is that even a word?) but it turned out very nicely if i do say so myself :)

I know at our school for sorority formals they always just use a classy name that utilizes one of their symbols or colors, for example: Delta Gamma ("Anchor Ball"), ADPi ("Diamond Ball"), Kappa ("Sapphire Ball")...they use that "theme" every year. I don't know if that helps but it's pretty classy.

We were the same way... Violet Formal was fall and Black Tie and Pearls was spring

My suggestions is with the exception of the name try to not go to "themey" instead just go for something classic. Maybe something with black and white? Not sure on your decoration budget, but this site has some neat stuff to rent http://www.epropsource.com/page/page/675186.htm they have fountains and columns and such. Just a suggestion.
