What about students for Bush?
|
mgdzkm433, ARe you asking why didn't SkeeBunny post information about students for Bush? I certainly can't speak for SkeeBunny, but I think she was trying to pass on some information that would be of benefit to others. Maybe she did not have any information on Students for Bush, or, maybe she didn't think anyone would benefit from that information. I don't know. But, if you have some information that you think would be worthwhile, please share!

mgdzkm433- I'm with you. I am getting involved with the Young Republicans here myself. I for one am not anxious to see a One-World Order, Anti-gun president in the White House for yet another term.

Actually, I was just joking. I don't enjoy the political areana, and I'm no longer a student, I just thought I would insert the oposing side and see what happens. I plan on voting for Gore personally--I suppose I consider him the lessor of the two evils. I have noticed recently that Bush seems to target seniors in his campaign adds on TV, and I know that seniors and older adults vote more than young people, but I still can't help but think that although they are trying to appeal to the group that votes--we as young adults and teens are the future of the country. I feel it's more important to focus on the future of the country. Just my opinion. I haven't seen many of Gore's campain ads, which is odd considering I live in a democratic state, so I don't know what he is targeting. I do know I like his stand on education better than Bush. But one of the main reasons I plan to vote for Gore is the religion issue. I am all for freedom of religion--and from what I've read, Bush obviously is not. I believe people should be able to practice what they want, when they want. I read an artical about Bush--which I will try to find and post here--that he doesn't agree that witchcraft or wicca is a religion and that the people in the military should not be allowed to practice. It is by constitutional law a religion--made so in 1985 I believe. I will try to find the artical and post online. It is in the archives of www.witchvox.com. This is one of the main reasons I am not going to vote for Bush.

Whether it's Gore, Bush, Nader or LaRouche (I'm sure he's running again, isn't he?), REGISTER AND GET OUT AND VOTE! OUr forefathers and foremothers didn't fight for this right so we could take it for granted.
Here's a scary statistic from US News: In 1900, voter turnout was 73.7%. In 2000 (so far), it was 48.9%. Just remember - if you don't exercise your right to vote, you lose your right to complain! |

As a response to the statistics above, don't forget that the percentage of the population allowed to vote is much higher now also. Plus, it just occurred to me that the 48.9% voter turnout we have now is the percentage of REGISTERED voters which I believe is somewhere around half the eleigible voters. I am almost positive that I am correct on this. |
I rarely like either of the candidates, and I get frustrated by the (unconstitutional) 2 party system that limits our choices so much.
But I wondered what everyone thought about the WWF voting campaing? (If you don't know, a lot of WWF stars, such as The Rock, have been speaking at both Republican and Democratic conventions in a general effort to get WWF fans out and voting). I guess it's like Rock the Vote for wrestling fans? It just seems like a bizarre combination to me. ------------------ SilverTurtle@greekchat.com Phi Beta Fraternity Phi chapter |

I think it is pretty neat. It is a bizarre combination but they are doing a great public service. They have registered over 60K voters, and I like the fact that they are encouraging people to vote but aren't telling them who to vote for. I am curious to know whether or not the candidate will accept the SmackDown! challenge. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, they are encouraging the cadidates (3rd party candidates also) to come on an episode of SmackDown and speak about the issues. I think it is a good way to get younger people to be more aware of what's going on. ZetaAce |

I'm personally voting for Ralph Nader this November. Find out about other candidate, who will be ignored and silenced by the biased media during the debate. Here is his homepage www.votenader.com. Since I'm not the media, here are the full list of those running for the president, and their web sites.
Harry Browne (Libertarian) http://www.harrybrowne2000.org Pat Buchanan (Reform) http://www.buchananreform.org John Hagelin (Natural Law) http://www.hagelin.org David McReynolds (Socialist) http://www.votesocialist.org Ralph Nader (Green) http://www.votenader.com Howard Phillips (Constitution) http://www.phillips2000.com George Bush (Republican) http://www.georgewbush.com Al Gore (Democrat) http://www.algore2000.com And for the fun of it: Darth Vader (Sith) http://www.vaderfor2000.org Barbie (Independent?) http://Barbie.com/girls/wob/bfp/ Bill Gates http://www.billgates2000.net Ambassador Duke http://www.duke2000.com ------------------ “Addiction should never be treated as a crime.
