Being safe on campus...
i want all of you guys to just be safe when walking around campus. recently we've had some incedents on our campus, and we've been advised not to walk around campus alone after dark, and i would like to share that advise with all of you! be safe!!

Excellent advice for all.
With todays nut cases out there who know what lurks in the shadows of buildings and the hearts of humans. If is a major problem on your campus for females, try to set up a program with the Fraternities to have a walk home patrol. Guys are usually more than willing to help the Sororities. |
Considering there was an alleged murder-suicide at the University of WA this morning in the Architecture Building, I think it's a bit more than walking alone at night.

This is true anywhere, including campus. It's important to stay aware of your surroundings at all times. If you can travel in pairs or groups, even better.

the most dangerous part of walking at night on my campus is crossing the street to the apartments because people always run that red light. i once saw a guy get hit by a car. it wasn't at a high speed, though, and he was fine. i usually call someone when i'm walking at night alone so incase something does happen, someone knows about it right away.
for a while we had a problem with cars getting broken into and stolen, but the police caught the people doing it and it was actually someone that went to the school and lived in the apartments. it was creepy that my school would let in someone that would do that. they really need to up their acceptance standards. |
