Phelps wins SG presidency
President-elect thanks campaign staff, promises to start transition

After nearly two hours of waiting, presidential candidate Nick Phelps [Sigma Chi] buried his head in running mate Brittany Langdon's [Sigma Kappa] shoulder as he was announced as next year's [University of Kentucky] Student Government president.

Phelps won by 83 votes and hugged Langdon as a crowd of supporters applauded and jumped into the air around him.

"I can't explain how amazing this feels," Phelps said. "There is so much I'm thinking about right now. I'm just so excited and thankful to everyone who worked so hard toward this."

I'm thrilled for both Nick & Brittany. I know Brittany has been working especially hard & she will make an awesome VP!

I'll just say that there are only Greeks running in our ASG elections. All 4 tickets are Greek vs. Greek.
