Anyone know if the LSU chapter gets their house back?

LSU
Last I heard the FBI was using it.
No really I heard this. The FBI headquarters in LA was damaged in Katrina so they set up base in the Sigma NU house since the chapter had been closed and even had t-shirts made up, PHI BETA IOTA. |

I'm friends with the guys up at the UF colony. One of them just told me today they're getting their charter back on April 14th. It'll be really good to have them back up there. The house is looking really well too.

Yeah, we (Delta Mu) get to install them. I visited the UF chapter when I went to the Recruitment / LEAD seminar a few months ago, so I'm looking forward to going back to watch the guys get initiated. On a totally unrelated note, does anyone know if a colony automatically gets off mandatory dry house policy the moment they get their charter? |

Louisiana State University (Phi) Spring 2007
They have been working with a new pledge class on fixing up their house. It was left in bad shape after the chapter closed and the FBI took up residence there and left a huge bill (elecric.. not sure which one). Anywho, they are doing very well and look to be back in the Snake house there on the row very soon. And if that's true, they can use our tradition and house location to get back to the top very soon. |
The CSUN guys are doing pretty good, our chapter has pinned them like the last 3 semesters or so and I've talked to a few of them every now and then, went to a party they had a few months ago. They are almost done with all their requirements and are hoping to be rechartered by the time the fall semester rolls around last I heard.

CSUN is still up and running strong. The Greek Advisor at Cal State Northridge is actually a Sigma Nu from Cal State San Bernadino so I'm sure he has a vest interest in the success of the chapter.
As for LSU....Chris Healy, Director of Expansion, spoke to San Jose State and UC Berkeley chapters on March 10th at the Berkeley Chapter House and mentioned that he is actually living in Lousiana right now overseeing the re-chartering of LSU! So we're on top of it. |
I was the Commander for the CSUN Candidate Intiation Ceremony back in 2004 and I facilitated a LEAD session for them in 2005. They seem like a good bunch of guys and they will make great Knights.

LSU (Phi) is back in the newly renovated house. They sent their petition at the end of Feb, 08 and hope to hear positive news by April.

U of Florida, UNC and William Jewell are all doing fine and are back in their houses (UF and UNC's case), and William Jewell is residing in this bad boy: http://www.wjcsigmanu.com/images/house.jpg http://www.wjcsigmanu.com/ |
Thanks for asking about Theta Eta (Northern Illinois)... Oops - no one did.
We got our charter back on April 19th, 2008. The previous two weekends, Sigma (Vanderbilt) and Phi (Louisiana State) received their charters. The Regent complimented in having more alumni at the re-chartering ceremony than either of the two combined - both of which are 100+ year old chapters. We had over 40 alumni to participate in the initiation out of our approximately 400 alumni (going back to 1970). There were nearly 300 people at our banquet that evening. In four semesters, Theta Eta has become the 5th largest out of 14 fraternities with 50 men. We've been #1, #1 and #2 in GPA. Two of the last three Student Government presidents have been a Sigma Nu member. We've fully implemented LEAD and have proven ourselves to be the most progressive leadership oriented fraternity at NIU. The future looks great for Theta Eta. We only graduate 3 this spring and will return with 47 in the fall. Our recruitment chairman is an animal and intends to bring 30+ quality men into the chapter. That will put us in the top 3 at NIU. |
Congrats!
