Ours was last week. I meant to work on my term paper, but I mostly just bummed around. I'm saving my money for a real vacation at the end of the semester. :)

Well, I don't get a Spring Break anymore, but I am going on a trip to Savannah next weekend to scope out apartments. Wish me luck!

You're #312. Alphabetical order within each pledge class. :)

In the Nu chapter ... erm, membership roster book thing? Amanda, what is it's official name? ... everyone who is ever initiated into Nu chapter has a number. So I was the 312th sister ever initiated at Nu chapter, followed immediately by the lovely Amanda as the 313th.

My understanding from alums is that back in the day, sisters kept up more with things like their number, and their number within the pledge class. (Amanda would be #4, and I would be #3.)

Another crash....

APO does this as well. My chapter number is 778. It appears alongside my national number on my membership card.

In APhiA, however, I only have a national number.

Yep yep. I don't know the official name of the book. According to Chelsea, it used to be a huge deal. They'd use the initiation numbers to pull rank. So if I was sitting in a desk in chapter, and a older sister wanted it, I'd have to give it up.

:sigh: This is what the ladies today just do not understand. You must maintain control! :)

Ok never heard of this. I like it, I like it! I think we lost that down here in the south. I stress the importance of tradition at Alpha Epsilon and I'm trying to reclaim a lot that has been lost over the years....

On another note...have you all joined the forum on the website, this would be a good discussion over there....I think I'll start it

With age comes power... at least at Nu!

I don't know my number at Nu, but since I'm one of the founding mothers I know it's less than 20. So you're telling me that if I drop by a chapter meeting I can just go down the row making people give up their seats for me? That cracks me up!!:D

Even if that wasn't a tradition, do you honestly think that anyone at Nu wouldn't give up a seat for you?? I mean, you're Ginger!
