how to go about national growth!

I am a part of a New National org that has been in existence for 8 years. We have only 3 chapters and about 5 or so colonies right now. We would like to start expanding to other schools but are unsure about how to go about doing that. Some of your orgs have been doing very well in that department and my question is....

HOW DO U GO ABOUT NATIONAL EXPANSION?

No offense, but comparing a 3-chapter sorority to NPC and NPHC sororities is like comparing apples to oranges. For NPC sororities, our IHQs go after expansion opportunities for us; you don't have a staffed IHQ, so i'm guessing that means you would have to pursue expansion yourself.

When schools say they have a "national" greek system, they mean they are made up of NPC, NIC, and NPHC-member organizations. In order for you to be "national" in that context, you would have to become a member of one of those governing bodies, and to be honest, you would have a long way to go. Go to the conference Web sites and you'll see how many chapters each sorority has and how old the orgs. are.

What you can do, though, is try to get your sorority on the campuses that allow local sororities to join panhellenic along with the nationals, or you can try to expand to campuses that are locals only. There are actually several "regional" sororities in positions just like yours. Your story is not unique.
