Technical Help

Ok, so I've been on this board for a little over 3 years and I am hoping a moderator or someone could help me.

I receive updates on topics that I post in or start through my email. Only thing is, sometimes there will be several replies that I do not receive updates on. If I do get an update, sometimes it goes into my regular inbox, and sometimes it goes into my junk mail folder.

Sometimes I will get a random update from the "LXA Daily Facts" thread for no reason at all.

Could someone please explain to me the email notification standards?

GammaZeta, there is a place at the top of the the posting area that you can check out. If you want to keep updated on certain Threads you can sign up for them. You will then be notified.

Unfortunately as a Mod, I get added and then have to go delete some so I will not get notified as they are not important to me!

Try this and see if it works. If not, let me know and I will try to figure out where to go from there.:)

That's the thing Tom. I am automatically subscribed to threads that I post in.

But sometimes they come, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they arrive in my junk mail folder. Sometimes my inbox.

It's all screwy.

True that!

I know I have to go through every so often and delete what I do not want to be notified of.

The Adm. is getting a new server and is trying to do some new things. Guess we will wait and see what comes from it!

Remember, this is a free site and the very best that I have been able to see except for some who want to disrupt it! This does not include you but some Mods who wish to control it!:D

I know, it does get frustrating at times!:(

Tom, it's not a big deal to me. Just something I was always curious about. I'm not complaining, just wondering if anyone else had this happen.

Thought someone may have had an answer.

What may happen is this:

I believe the mechanics of post notification work like this: When a reply is made to a post that you've made or subscribed to, a notification is sent to you. You will not receive another notification for that particular topic until you go and read it. Some sort of counter must be reset because the notifications will start again. There could be 19 replies to a particular topic, but you will only receive notice of the first reply, not of each reply.

Gracias John, now it makes sense.
