same question as gat07 different situation ..in need of advice.
Hi Im Jane and i Just transfered to university or arizona. I just transfered from a university outside the country this spring semester and since they didnt validate all my credits im still going to be a sophomore next semester. I was planning to join a sorority as soon as i transfered but i was going through international Orientation and it was the same week as rush week. I also feel a little old to join. It refreshing to know im not the only one who feels this way. I was wondering are western universities as competive as schools down south . Is it worth pledging?

I'm not an expert, but generally, I don't think class standing matters quite as much in the west. The best thing to do is to ask around on your campus.
I wouldn't think that rushing as a sophomore would hurt you're chances as much as being a junior anywhere. Good luck! |
Here are 2 links to UofArizona recruitment stories from 2003 (gee has it really been almost 4 years!!)
.. both women were sophomores and both got bids. http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=37563 http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=38197 I live in Tucson and am active with Alumnae Panhellenic. If you want to PM me I can try to answer any questions you have about UofArizona recruitment. |
Go for it. As an international student, you'll be very memorable and I think as a soph you would stand a good chance at U of A. Good luck-- give it a shot!
