I know several of us read the book, but the movie is on its way. I just saw the trailer.:D

Looks cute, but is there anything in the movie that actually resembles the book? I know you have to make changes for film, but it looks completely different.

IDK, I don't think it looks that far off.

Also I love Scarlett Johannsen!

I've read the book twice, although it's been a while, and I don't remember the 4th of July costumes, the mother's "convention" about the nanny cam, or the fact that Nanny lived in the house. I guess that's why it's "based" on... same spirit as the book but not exact.

I guess it depends how close the book you like your movies to be. The book had nanny and Grayer dressed up in costumes together, nannycam, satanic mrs. X, the cute guy upstairs who is supposedly out of nanny's league according to mrs. X...
Hard to tell how much they changed really. I read it again fairly recently, think I've read it three times now.

Slight differences, I remember her dressing up for Halloween not 4th of July, but if it makes the movie good I am all for it.

The movie comes out April 20th.
