a really bad hair cut!

Hey people

Ok today I got my hair highlighted, girls it was a nightmare. First off i have thick hair, second of all they got that cap stuk in my hair. Then they put to much highlights in it. I'm not very happy with it--And it wasnt cheap either. I will never NEVER go back to Marcus again. I'm going to get Shannon to do my hair next time..

Ok, I can empathize with this. I am terrified of hairdressers now. I had some psycho lady cut off all my hair in a pathetic attempt to give me long layers. My hair went from down my back, nearly touching my behind to my ears!!!!!!!! Yes, I walked out in tears. They fixed it, but I didn't pay anything (of course). So now, I have slight scissor phobia!

Ladies - remember this:

You are paying for the service. Therefore, you have every right to know exactly what the stylist is going to do to you --- BEFORE it is done to you!!! Do not be intimidated by your stylist... I speak from experience, it is easy to do. Especially when you are 17-18-19 and going on your own with your own money.... you just assume that Marcus or Shannon or Romero or Richard or Mona knows what he/she is doing.

ASK THEM! Ask what he/she is planning. If they describe it and you can't imagine it clearly, ask them to show you a picture (stylists have all those magazines lying around the salon for a REASON).

If you ASK for a specific thing, i.e. "long layers" or "mild highlights" or "a little curl", make sure that you and he/she have the same thing in mind.... "a few highlights" to you might mean a couple of sun-kissed streaks, but to Romero, that might be whatever chunky bleach action he saw at last month's hair show.

You are the one that has to live with the look... and no amount of money can undo a bad haircut or color! Be bold, and don't let yourself think "he/she knows what is best for me..."
