|
I'm sure excited! The marathon should be starting as I type this...so I'll need to make this short. I would REALLY be excited if it were Good Times though!
|
I am watching it now and having a BALL. I just saw that 3's Company will be coming in October.
|
Oh dear...I watched this far longer than I should have. What happened to the big anti-drug episode where Blair and Sue Ann join "The Group"?
Gloria Vanderbilt jeans....that's all I have to say. |
Love Facts of Life. I thought it was a sit-com. It's nothing like the sitcoms of today I noticed. Friends or Will & Grace are about as many jokes as you con pack into 1/2 hour. Facts of Life was all about the "Big Dramatic Moment" And their was ALWAYS the huge life lesson. Guess that's why they called it "Facts of Life". There were always so many serious moments. Not nearly as lighthearted as todays sitcoms. Anyone else notice this?

Facts about 'Facts of Life':
show first aired in 1979 Molly Ringwald was in the first season They didn't expect the show to survive it's second season Ok, you mentioned that Friends was more layed back and more funny than the 'Facts of Life'. Very True, but think about the time period change. During the time that Facts of Life aired, the girls weren't tackling the 'major' issues of a young person's life untill the later years because of how taboo it all was. They made premarital sex such a big deal on the Facts of Life, but on Friends . . . someone is having sex every episode!! As for Will and Grace . . . gay men? I don't remember the facts of life even touching that one and in the early 80's, I don't think they would. Lots has changed, I sort of miss the days of innocence but I also like the fact that people are so much more open minded now days. |
mgdzkm433 - true dat, true dat. I never thought about the taboo issues of the day vs. today. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
