NPC Programs: Anything of Value?
The National Panhellenic Conference has developed several programs, such as "Something of Value," "Something to Talk About: Confrontation," and "Focus on Self-Esteem," in which NPC representatives visit individual universities to educate and help the NPC sorority women there with various issues.
Out of curiosity, has anybody's college Panhellenic brought one of these programs to campus? Was it useful or helpful at all? What was it like? Was it worth it? Thanks! |
I have not been personally exposed to it but the "Something of Value" program has been done at two of the chapters in my area and I heard nothing but positives about it.

Haven't had the NPC program but they sound like the our Realize Your Potential program(s) that nationals has set up for us.

An AOII friend of mine is presenting it at DePauw right around now - I think this weekend!

Yes, I helped as a facilitator in "Something of Value" session at the University of Montevallo (Alabama) around 1997. It was excellent...it encouraged the young ladies to think about the consequences of their actions and how they affect other people. It would be relevant ANY year, ANYwhere.

We had it at Pepperdine in I think 1997 or 1998. The part that I remember the most was the workshop on legal/risk management issues, where they did a mock trial of an organization and its members on trial for an incident where a chapter member was injured. There was a lot of discussion and Q&A. I honestly don't remember anything about it other than that session.
