we are looking for some new professional development ideas for our sorority. in the past we have held several resume and interview workshops, and we recently attended an etiquette dinner. if anyone has any new ideas we would love suggestions.

With graduation and summer vacation coming up, maybe consider inviting alumnae and/or parents and have a job fair/intership fair. This would give members the oportunity to use the skills learned at the resume, interview, and etiquitte workshops. AND you might be able to find jobs for your seniors and/or summer internships for the younger members. I find it amazing the connections people have, if only someone would ask them for the help.

See if your alumnae assoc would be willing to take on groups of you to mentor. IE: alumna who is in the medical field could meet with interested future professionals, marketing and communications majors meet with ad agency exec, teachers get together with education majors for a luncheon, shadowing or mentoring experience-- great way to improve alum-chapter relations, too!
