Possible ZTA Expansion at UTSA

I recieved this email today and i want to share the news. Out of the many chapters in Texas and five major Universities in the Alamo City, there is not one collegiate chapter, thus far in San Antonio. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Dear Zeta Sisters - We have just been notified by our National Extension Director, Karen Mills that ZTA has been invited to make a presentation at UTSA(University of Texas at San Antonio) on the evening of Thursday, March 29th! The Panhellenic Council at the University has determined that there is a need to add two more groups (one in the Fall 2007 and one in the Fall 2009, if the numbers still warrant it) to accommodate the number of women going through membership recruitment on campus.

UTSA is one of the state's fastest growing public universities for much of the last decade and its administration is supportive of the Greek system there. The groups currently on campus are Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Omicron Pi, Phi Mu, and Sigma Kappa. A total of four groups have been invited to present next month.

As this process continues, I will be in touch.

Zeta Love,

Betty Coe Manuel

How exciting! I hope the presentation goes well. :)

pardon my crash ladies - do you know who else is presenting?

FABULOUSZETA 03-03-2007 02:58 PM

I am not sure which 3 GLO's are presenting along with ZTA... i'll keep you updated on who they are as the alumni chapter is informed, if that's the case.

Woo hoo! I know that ZTA was asked to present at UTSA many years ago when they first decided to expand Greek life on campus but the time was not right for us so we declined.

I was so busy at Texas Zeta Days that I didn't even get a chance to visit much. I could have gotten some good scoop. Crud!

This would be wonderful since Texas Zeta Day is IN San Antonio next year! I just found out about this because our pres is going down tomorrow to help out, I know everything will go well!

So who else presented? What was the decision?

radioZTA 12-19-2007 04:16 PM

Gamma Phi Beta was picked.

SthrnZeta 12-19-2007 05:52 PM

Did they select a group for 2009 or will that happen next year?

ZTAngel 12-19-2007 07:41 PM

ZTA was selected to colonize in 2009.

Yay for Lambda Alpha (?)!!!

Crash!

Gamma Phi had a great response - apparently over 300 turned up for the first informational meeting, and we now have a great colony of 60. I'm sure this level of interest will mean Zeta will have a fabulous link in the chain come 2009!

Wow, 60 out of 300!!! What's total there?

I'm very excited to see how the newest link turns out - expansion is so exciting! And we definitely need to move more west...
