Smarter than a fifth grader?

Has anybody else watched this? Is it a little scary to know that some people are this clueless?

Intense1920 02-28-2007 10:54 PM

I'm watching it now. I missed the polar bear question last night and the Dewey Decimal question tonight.

Gina1201 02-28-2007 10:56 PM

The man who was from UCLA and went to law school. Pathetic!!!

LeslieAGD 02-28-2007 11:29 PM

The show is interesting...but SO SLOW!!! I am bored watching it.

PM_Mama00 02-28-2007 11:40 PM

Leslie I agree. I lost interested because it's way too slow paced.

My fifth grader thinks the show is stupid!

I worked in a library for years, and I missed it as well. Turns out there are classifications for fiction in the 800s, but every library I have ever been in that uses the DDC instead of Library of Congress classification simply puts fiction in "F-Author," instead of using the DDC numbers.

And yes, it moves much too slowly.

I watched for about 2 minutes, but it was too slow-paced for me. But on the radio this morning, the 3 DJs were all quizzing each other and one DJ could not name all the colours of the rainbow, even though the other DJs were barking at him: "ROY G. BIV! ROY G. BIV!"

The theme song hurts my ears.

I played it for my 4th graders and am pleased that they knew most of the questions. Still, it's not something I would show in class all the time.

Like many of you have commented I found the show way too slow. I watched the first couple of questions, but had to turn it off after that. It was painfully slow...

Xylochick216 03-03-2007 02:40 PM

I saw a story on yahoo where they mentioned the show only asked 5 questions in 30 minutes. It's ridiculous.

YES! I knew I wasn't crazy. I remember the libraries back home using the "F-Author" notation.

KDAngel 03-03-2007 11:51 PM

Yeah, definitely too slow. I won't bother watching it again.

Its a cute show with a cute premise - and definitely makes you think about all the stuff we've forgotten!

But yes, it is too slooooowwwww -- they asked one question & got the answer and asked the next question & went to commercial. So you average 1.5 questions per segment, so 5 sounds about right.

I HATE how every freaking show has played off of Ryan Seacrest with the "after the break" - Howie on DOND is the most aggrivating but Jeff Foxworthy is catching up!
