Greek Population

Does anyone have a rough number of Greeks in the United States? Across the world?

I have a reporter who needs some data.

Thanks,

A messageboard is not a place to get solid, factual information.

I would absolutely agree that you shouldn't consider GC to be a primary source of information.

Are you interested in just socials or professionals and service groups, too? Active and alumni?

You might want to look at the websites for all of the governing bodies (i.e. NPC, NPHC, NIC, etc.) They will be able to give you numbers for their groups. Or you could use Wikipedia (again, not to be used a primary, but still damn good).

I know that Alpha Phi Omega is the largest GLO (service) over several countries.

I'm looking more for a Web site or source, not the actual numbers.

Contact the National Panhellenic Conference at www.npcwomen.org, National Pan-Hellenic at http://www.nphchq.org/ and North American Interfraternity Conference at nicindy.org etc for qualified sources of this information.

see there's a problem with this question. Cuz most orgs tell you how many member's they've initiated in their history and not how many are currently active.
