Wedding Traditions

I was talking to my girlfriend one night about some Kappa Kappa Gamma wedding traditions and I was wondering if Sigma Nu had any. The idea of the sisters and/or brothers sending the couple off is an idea that I like and I was just wondering. Mind you I have no intention of getting married anytime soon. Definitely a long while off.

So what are some traditions you guys know of?

What's up man?

Wait til the semi-formal in late March... I think we'll have something set up for one of the brothers.

We've also been discussing buying a lavalier or whatever for whoever is proposing. One of our alumni just got married, so it's been a pretty active topic around the chapter lately.

Ok then. Thanks.

Glad to know that I was not the only one wondering about that.

We have a traditional photo we always take at weddings (this is unique to the Mu Tau chapter). Basically, all of the brothers in attendance hold the bride up for the camera.

Any one else have any traditions that you do for the brothers?

Just Curious.

I've been in like 5 or 6 brothers weddings. Can't think of anything specifically Sigma Nu that we did.

I got one

My chapter would always sing "family tradition" by Hank Williams Jr at the bars but change the last versus too:

Because its a Sigma Nu Tradition.

At my wedding reception all my brothers serenaded me and wife with Sigma Nu Tradition.

It was great but some of the church-goes in crowd frowned on it but what ever. We already had their gifts.

That's a pretty cool tradition... We use Garth Brook's Friends in Low Places as our official chapter song already. Good stuff.

I like that one.

That sounds like a really nice tradition. And I am a church goer so they can deal with it in my opinion because they must be way too uptight. Then again... so are some of the people in my church. I do really like that tradition though.

Mu Iota

My boyfriend's chapter song is "Livin' On a Prayer" you can be assured that anywhere they congregate that song will be played :)
