Pike Question
 

Ok, I was told by one of my friends, who is a Pike brother in the south, that if you touch a Pike pledge pin that the pledge has to serenade you or do various things for you. Does every chapter do this? I know Pike's probably cannot talk about it but I just curious! :)

I've never heard of this.

You've heard right. I've never seen anyone do it in my years active, but we were informed of this "rule" during our pledge period.

at MTSU it only applied to GIRLS... and it was if it was stolen not touched

I think the stealing of pledge pins applies to alot of fraternities, not just Pike. Same as if a guy stole a girls pledge manual, she would have to do some task to get it back. The touching of a pledge pin was more for the active brothers, i.e., you touch a pledges pin then tell him to take out the garbage or walk some girl to her car. Since this practice veers towards hazing, no chapter that I know of does it, and if they do they shouldn't. Like I said before, I've heard of it, but I've never seen it done.

This is not true for my chapter, but we are a young chapter on the rebound.

At Arkansas State if any sorority pledge steals any fraternity boy's pledge pin the entire pledge class of that fraternitie has to stand outside the sororitiy's suite<they don't have houses> and sing.
