Shedd Aquarium as Event Site ?

A venue for special social events may again become available to Northwestern (Evanston) student groups, including Greeks. But a lot depends on how things go at a formal hosted by independent (dorm) students.

The spectacular Shedd Aquarium http://www.sheddaquarium.org/
hasn't been available for Greeks or most college student social activities for several years. See:

Last time I went to the Shedd (it's been awhile, but still...) they had one wing that was "Fish of the Midwest", another wing that was "Fish of IL", another wing that was "Fish of Greater Chicago", and then one tiny section of tropical-type fish. I could have done better taking a swim in the IL river and visiting a local PetsMart.

Why was Troy McClure the first thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread? :p

A swim in the IL river? Good (ugh) luck. I guess the more "spectacular" parts of the Shedd are the newer Oceanarium and Wild Reef ehibits.

Anyhow, the thing I though was interesting is that this time it's going to be an event hosted by group of non-Greek students that will be closely watched. It'll be interesting to see if everything goes smoothly or not, and in a way it's a refreshing change to have some up-front publicity about college student behavior that makes it clear that it isn't always Greeks that are scrutinized.
