I have a question that has something to do with Alpha Kappa Alpha
I'm a high school senior and I have a friend who wants to pledge AKA. There's nothing wrong with that, but the problem I have with her is that she has an AKA layout on her myspace page. I personally find that offensive, mainly because I want to go greek when I get to college and would find it disrespectful for someone to represent my sorority when they are not a member. I told her that if someone found and reported it that she could get blacklisted, but she still has the layout on her page. Should I report her? I didn't at first, because I figured she was like many of the other girls at my school who want to pledge AKA who doesn't know anything about the sorority except the colors, but I told her, so I know she knows. One of my other friends already reported her to the website, but I want to know what you think I should do.

I took it down, because I don't feel right posting her page on an open site like this. IF you want to see it, you'll have to send me a message. (Note: I do understand that myspace is probably a bigger site than this, but she decided to put it up there)

hey, your friend put a myspace page up representing something she shouldnt be.
you posting the link isnt any different than me typing in "LiNiqueLi's friend's Myspace page" in Google and getting the link. greekchat is public. myspace is public. what is done in the dark comes to light, but if what she is doing is already in the light, youre no better or worse by hiding it cause she put it out there. so, WHY TAKE IT DOWN? i guess we really dont need to see the page to answer your question. i dont think you need to report her, per se, but if shes your friend like that (and that is always questionable since everyone is friends with everyone because of myspace/facebook) then tell her what you told us. if she cant take the heat, get out her kitchen and let an actual AKA catch up with her. i mean if youre telling complete strangers (meaning us) about her, chances are a LOT of other myspace users have seen her page. she'll meet her match. she's probably not the only one doing that mess and she wont be the last. like i said, she'll get caught up by the wrong AKA and get e-hemmed up. now if you want an AKA member to respond, you can sit and wait on it... but thats my 22 cents. |
What's her name?

it would be one thing if her page was listed as private, or you needed a password to get to it, or whatever, but since you didnt indicate it, she's wide open to be seen. and while those letters are copyright protected, your friend's page isn't so even legally she leaves herself (and her page) to be put out there en masse. If you KNOW some diehard AKAs, why not report it to them?
