Spring 2007 COB/Informal results thread

I'm not sure if there is a thread for chapters to post COB results if they are at a school that has COB/informal in the spring. So, I wanted to make one! So please feel free to share your chapter's or school's informal/COB results here!

We took 7 fabulous new girls this Spring! (we are a chapter of 55)

My chapter of Tri Sigma @ Kent State currently has 11 new members. Most sororities here take classes of 10-15 women during COB, so I'm pleased to hear of this. I know that Alpha Phi, Chi Omega, and Delta Zeta just completed COB as well and they have spring classes of about 15 as well.

Cal State - San Marcos just finished formal recruitment. Both NPC chapters, Alpha Xi Delta and Alpha Chi Omega, took quota of 15 new members.

At California University of PA, they had Formal Recruitment in January but did not use Quota because all houses are way under total. They did more COBs and through that they got: Alpha Sigma Alpha 4 more (12 total), Alpha Sigma Tau 3 more (4 total), Delta Zeta 4 more (10 total), Sigma Kappa 9 more (11 total), and Phi Sigma Sigma still has 1 but they are working on a second new member class.

Whether or not the chapters are under total shouldn't matter. If there's a formal rush and bid matching, a quota must be set. The fact that everyone can bid more women after the quota is filled to get up to total is irrelevant.

If everyone is way under total, it probably should be lowered.

They used one of the new types of Recruitment, Minimally Structured, where Quota and Bid matching are not used. Sorry, I called it Formal Recruitment because its their big recruitment for the year since they can't take first semester freshmen, but they don't use a fully structured process.

This is my second semester as a Grad Assistant at Cal U for the Greek Life Office and we are in the process of improving recruitment here. Our next step is to lower total for next semester. It hasn't been reviewed since the 1990s and they all have a lot of work to do to keep the greek system on campus working, but they are definately up for the change!
