Super Bowl XLI-This Sunday
Just some random thoughts to start this thread:
After doing my weekly food shopping this afternoon, I now believe the reports that say that Super Bowl Sunday is the second largest feasting day in the US. After Thanksgiving. And from what I saw at just one market, it can not be by much. And while I am sure that Monday or Tuesday there will be updates, here are the the warm-up Op-Ed cartoons from around the nation: http://cagle.com/news/Superbowl07/main.asp http://caglecartoons.com/column.asp?...1-488CE5F03B5D} |
Going to a couple Superbowl parties.
Eating dinner before the first party to avoid eating "Superbowl food." |
go bears!
|
LOL we're going to a party, but I hope they don't expect me to be social, unless "social" includes yelling at the TV. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!
|
The bar I used to work at isn't usually open during the day, but the owner's opening especially for the regulars. The kitchen will be open, but we'll all be bringing food as well -- good food, not Superbowl food.
The best part? Because the owner couldn't throw a Christmas party for his regulars last year like he always does -- tomorrow will be "Ohana Day". All drinks are on the house. Needless to say, tomorrow's by invite only. :) |
I'm going to my Jaycee chapter's Super Bowl party. I'll be wearing my lucky Bears sweatshirt.
I haven't been this excited about the Super Bowl since Super Bowl XX! :D |
Every year we have a Super Bowl party, so we have about 30 people coming over. We will be having the normal Super Bowl food, but probably won't be concentrating on that as much as the game.
It is freezing here in Chicago (right now its -2, but with the wind chill it feels like -24), but on the news they say there are still going to be people tailgating at Solider Field!! Now I am a Bears fan, but not that crazy. Anybody tailgating in the freezing cold here in Chi-town? GO BEARS!!!! |
First stop is to my favorite shop's annual Super Bowl sale. Then it's off to a Super Bowl party.
GO BEARS!!!! |
Since no one else has said it yet in this thread, I have to say GO COLTS! As a Tennessee football fan, I have to cheer for the Colts simply because of Manning.
That said, I just finished prepping the dip I'm taking to the party I'm attending. I like SuperBowl food... isn't that awful!?! (I'm sure I won't be the only woman there who brings her own moist towelettes to deal with the "wing fingers" that accompany any decent Super Bowl party!) |
I'm rocking my Joseph Addai jersey. GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're having some people over to watch the game. I didn't want to go anywhere b/c I like the idea that if the pressure gets to be too much, I can get up, do something else, and come back ;). |
Watching it at home. Go Bears!
I've never seen so many dudes at the grocery store alone, LOL. |
Billy Joel must be on the sauce again... that was terrible. He didn't hit half the notes and it sounded (to me, at least) like he slurred some of the words. My ears hurt.
|
Man, Chicago is crazy here :D everyone is like wearing a Bears jersey (including me) My bf is disappointed today he couldn't find a Urlacher (54) jersey :( (I was lucky I got mines two days ago :) )
And this has been on the radio tons of times: COLTS C- Count O- On L - Losing T - The S - Superbowl BEARS B - Beating E - Everyone's A - A$$es R - Repeatedly S - Sucker (though that was a bit far fetched I admit :p ) |
Ok, so far this game is pretty crazy.
Fumble on the Bears, with the Colts getting the ball.....and then right on the next play the Colts fumble the ball and the Bears pick it up! Crazy sheeet i swear!! lol |
