egotrip's The White Rapper Show

How many of you watch this? It's actually a pretty good show.

I love egotrip's humor!

Some of these rappers can actually..rap! They do some creative challenges like greeting the neighbors, old school b-boy rapping, Affirmative Reaction, and the Club banger where they tested the team's song vibe and energy by how enthusiastic the exotic dancer(s) danced to it.

I am pulling for Persia and Jus Rhyme (I like his message), but I think John Brown will end up winnning.

Never really gotten into the show. . . There's just something about it that I don't like about it . . like it's some sort of parody show. Whenever it's on my face is like  . . .pass

I can't really get into either.I've seen a few clips but that's about it.I'm still trying to figure out what the heck "King of the Burbs" is though...

firecracker08 02-02-2007 04:19 PM

I watch it faithfully.

I like Jus Rhyme's message. But is that the only thing he can rap about? It's just overkill all the time.

I'm pullin for Persia.

Don't sleep on John Brown. I like his style. But the king of the burbs thing is dead it seems after Sadat X lit into him about it.

100 Proof is good too. He needs to step his game up.

Sully could get it!

I like it too..... it teaches lessons about stereotypes and causes the viewer to ask "What IS 'black' anyway?"

BlessedOne04 02-02-2007 08:04 PM

I like it because ego trip don't give a dang about gimicks, he wants to know you can hold your own as a lyricist.

that's why I enjoyed "Affirmative Reaction" so much..I feel that was the message they were trying to get across..though I can see how those who don't study race or find the humor in it can find offense to it.

I love this show!! I have a couple of ego trip books so I knew what to expect.

Obsession8 02-03-2007 12:00 AM

I like it as well. Persia's got skills; I'm rooting for her.

whiteandblack 02-03-2007 12:03 PM

I don't like it. I did watch the episodes with kurtis blow and brand nubian. I think they wasted their time and efforts being on the show.

Egotrip does a lot of programs on race in hip hop. It isn't so much a parody as it is a social commentary under the guise of hip hop.

I watch the re-runs, hence my signature. :)

I can tolerate her now that she was humbled after wearing that "N word" chain.

I def think it's between $hamrock and Persia, did anyone catch monday's episode about the videos LOL

Jon Boy, John Brown, and Sullee's team was so cliche and tired.

Jus, Shamrock, and Persia's vid was cheesy but the song was great! Again i think Shamrock and Persia will be in the final two...though Jus has never been up for elimination..that says something.

Private I 02-13-2007 05:49 PM

I'm so mad that Persia is gone! She had the most talent out of anybody on the show! I'm rooting for Shamrock now, I can't STAND the other two, in particular the 'king of the burbs...' someone signed a mass email today with 'hallelujah hollaback' and I wanted to puke
