I just saw the trailer for this and it looks so excellent (but also SCARY!) It's basically about how Hannibal became the monster that he is.
After looking at these pictures, all I can say is that Crispen Glover is no longer the creepiest actor.

Synopsis from Yahoo:
In Eastern Europe at the end of World War II, a young Hannibal watches as his parents violently die, leaving his young sister in his care. Alone and without any means of support, he is forced to live in a Soviet orphanage. He flees to Paris to find his uncle has died but his Japanese widow, Lady Murasaki (Gong Li) welcomes him. Even her kindness and love cannot soothe the nightmares and sorrows that plague him. Showing a cunning aptitude for science he is accepted into medical school, which serves to hone his skills and provide the tools to exact justice on the war criminals that haunt him day and night. This quest will ignite an insatiable lust within a serial killer who was not born, but made.

I can't wait for this to come out! It looks AMAZING!!!

i read the book over break and i'm really hoping they do a good job with this.

Creepy shit
 

Thomas Harris is a creepy ass writer....makes me wonder about him a little...I hope this is great!! All three of the other Hannibal stories were awesome and actually translated to screen better than most of todays pop fiction...blows Davinci Code to hell...

I went and saw this last night with my cousin. It was pretty good and not really that scary. If anything, I was rooting for Hannibal to "get the bad guys" (though it's not necessary to eat their faces....eeeewww). It's a pretty good story about revenge although witnessing a traumatic event as a boy (aged 7, maybe) made him eff'ed up and turned him into a monster.

Gaspard Ulliel is a pretty good actor in the movie and carries the role well. He is definitely creepy a la Crispen Glover!
