Wearing the badge of your SO, along with your own?
I had a Tri Delta friend and she was married to a guy who had also gone Greek. I think he was maybe a TDChi.
Anyhow, she wore her Tri-Delta badge and then instead her TriDelta badge being linked to a chapter guard, she had it linked to her husband's badge (or at least, that it how I remember it...this was maybe 5 years ago) Have you seen this with other Greek couples? I was kinda eyeing this little Kappa Sigma Sweetheart's badge, and I'd like to pair it with my pretty golden anchor. http://www.hjgreek.com/assets/images...large/7358.jpg+http://www.hjgreek.com/assets/images...arge/10083.jpg I don't think these pics are quite to scale, since the sweetheart badge seems to be dwarfing the anchor and I know that that sweetheart badge is smaller than those that KS men get, and those are on par, sizewise, with our anchors. Discuss! |
I think that would be really meaningful if you were a KS Sweetheart...but I'm not sure about buying a sweetheart pin to do that (I'm not sure how seriously KS takes their sweethearts...like are all girlfriends sweethearts or are they chosen for a chapter?). I definitely wouldn't do that with just a regular fraternity badge...just because I wouldn't want any male to wear my badge...
Just my 2 cents. |
Back in the day - WAY back in the day, when you got pinned to a guy in a fraternity, it was pretty standard to wear his pin next to yours. You wore your pin closest to your heart, though. Of course!
It also meant you were in a serious relationship. LOL here, I just feel really old for sharing that! |
we had two girls in our house who were pinned by sigma phi epsilon. sig ep has actual sweetheart pins shaped like a heart, and our girls wore them right next to their anchor badges.

CutiePie2000...
I remember you posting back in the topic "Show Us Your Badges!" about wanting the KS sweetheart badge linked with your anchor. I think it is a great idea!! I also agree with some of the other sentiments, my anchor would of course be higher but I love the idea of linking them together. I find the linking of the badges together to be pretty meaningful! But then again, I am hopelessly addicted to all things Greek! Just a random side note...while I am currently single, my ex was not a greek but was really into the fact that I was. He had a standard college experience at UPitt, however he did not get too involved on campus and he always regretted not joining a fraternity. But he lived vicariously through my circle of greek friends! As a matter of fact, his two favorite t-shirts said "I love a DeeGee" and "A DeeGee loves me!". Hmmm...I'm thinking that I need to add a box for "Greek Affliation" on my dating application!! |
