Greek Administrators
I love my sorority. I love greek life in general. I want to do greek affairs as my career. Is anybody here a greek affairs administrator? Got any advice you could share? Know of any grad schools that have a greek affairs program?

As far as I know, there is no program in strictly Greek Affairs. Most people get a Master's in Student Personnel Management and specialize in fraternity/sorority relations.
Florida State has a very good Student Personnel program - I know a few people that have graduated from there. One of them is working as the Asst. Director of Student Involvement/Greek Affairs Director at Samford University in Birmingham. She is an alumna of my Fraternity. :-) Barb |
I am a Greek Affairs Administrator at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Barb is right, there is no "Greek Affairs" degree program. However, you can have a Greek Life emphasis in a Student Personnel Administration program. Some schools with excellent programs are:
Bowling Green State University University of South Carolina Indiana University Ball State University Eastern Illinois University University of Vermont |
At University of Wisconsin Madison we have a Greek advisor, that is her only job. She is hired by the university to deal with all three parts of our Greek System, PanHellenic, Interfraterity Council and NPHC.

I am applying to grad school next year to go into Student Affairs in Higher Education so that I too can have a career in Greek Life Admin!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

I too am planning a career in Greek Affairs, and I also plan on getting my masters in Student Affairs in Higher Education. My university, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, has a very good SAHE program.

No we are not associated with the state of Indiana in any way. We are located in Indiana, PA, which is in Indiana County. We started off as Indiana Normal School, then we became Indiana State Teachers College, then finally, Indiana University of PA. We are the largest of PA's state schools, and the 5th largest university in the state. Everyone always thinks that IUP is a branch campus of Indiana University.
