Tau Kappa Epsilon and U. of South Alabama Suspend Chapter
Tau Kappa Epsilon HQ and the U. of South Alabama have suspended the Teke chapter “during an investigation into a student’s ruptured spleen.”
http://www.timesdaily.com/apps/pbcs....75&cachetime=5 Excerpts from article: . . . Kevin Mayeux, the chief executive officer of the national fraternity, declined to release the name of the injured student but said the student was a "recently initiated" member of USA's chapter of the fraternity. He is "undergoing treatment and surgery" for his injuries, Mayeux said. . . . [the] vice president for student affairs at USA, said university police are investigating the ruptured spleen as part of a hazing ritual. . . . I hope the treatment and surgery are successful and the student makes a full recovery. Best wishes to him, his family and friends at this difficult time. |
Not good. Let's hope that this young man has a complete recovery, and let's also hope that this isn't hazing.
Let's also not jump to any conclusions until the police report is finalized. |
